With Donald J. Trump now coming back into office, We need to get back to making the changes needed to Make America Great Again....
Congress and Elections
Congress, The United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate, have now gone far beyond their intended
and needed purpose. The original intent was to be 'citizen' legislators, to have real jobs and convene for a short time when
needed. Our elected officials raise so much money for 'campaigns', take free 'research trips', etc., they pretty much live
like 'nobels' from the 16th century. They are constantly campaigning, not working for the citizens. We must restrict how
often Congress can meet, thus lessen the 'damage' they can do. Our election system, like our tax, financial, energy... systems
are broken. I don't believe that the 'fix' is difficult and discussed in this section. TERM LIMITS!
Ukraine
We can not continue to support an everlasting war in Ukraine like we did in Vietnam. I doesn't appear that either Russia
or Ukraine are in a position to end the war soon. We praise the spirit of the Ukrainian people and condemn to actions of Putin,
but a lot of blame for this war beginning in the first place should be attributed to Joe Biden and Tony Blinken. With Russian
military equipment and troops positioned along the eastern border of Ukraine, they did NOTHING!.
International Trade Agreements
An area that needs to be totally restrategized is that of America's current trade agreements. At the end of World War
II and over the years since, the US has entered in a number of trade agreements, generally designed to prop up both allies
and enemies after the war. Those same type trade agreements continued through the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and for the beginning
of the 21st century. It is now time to rethink those agreements. How much do we actually sell to Mexico and Canada or how
many cars or how much rice do we sell to Japan, how much concrete or steel, ag products, or planes do we sell to China or
India, and so on. Whether you agree with many of President Trumps ideas or not, this is one that he has right on point. We
have to start thinking about US interests in trade agreements and not how we can support our allies. Tariffs provide a lot
of negotiating leverage for many things.
Health Insurance and Prescription Medications for All
The Obamacare Program is craziness. Congress' first attempt to fix it was feeble ! I agree we need something, but not
what was proposed! Many taxpayers have no access to a medical program and we need to provide a basic medical 'fall back system'
which will come at a reasonable cost. I would prefer that employers provide benefits for employees and their families, but
that is not happening. Also, fortunately, many large retailers in the US are now offering reasonable prices for many prescription
medicines, but not for all, so we need some 'fall back system' which will come at a reasonable cost. And, ONLY CITIZEN's
or immigrants who have the proper and legal documentation get healthcare. Our elected officials have proven more corrupt than
I had even imagined. Reid blatantly BOUGHT votes for passage of the bill in the Senate, and those are only the things we
heard about - Louisiana, Florida, Nebraska, union's, etc. Ever wonder what we didn't hear about what Pelosi gave away in
the House to get her required votes? Repeal and replace Obamacare, and, for gosh sakes the easiest thing to do immediately
is make COBRA available to someone forever if someone would choose to keep it. Why does it end after 18 months?
Social Security/Medicare/Retirement
Get out of your mind that Social Security and Medicare are Welfare! THEY ARE ENTITLEMENTS because those that are receiving
them paid to get them, so are ENTITLED to those benefits. Those that are in their late 40's, 50's and early 60's have been
promised benefits according to a formula since they began working, for some that was over 40 years ago. To now tell them
that their benefits must change (read as be lowered and deferred) is BS!
If we can find additional trillions to fund unnecessary wars, trillions to 'bailout' private companies and individuals
who get in over their heads, we will find funding for continuing these long promised benefits and for those still having 20
or more years until retirement, some parts of the system should change so that possibly some portion of the current FICA payments,
go into private accounts. Another possibility is to do away with the Medicare withholding ceiling and collect the Medicare
premium for all wages.
Entitlements/Welfare
First let's make this very clear- Welfare and Medicaid are not "Entitlements" like Social Security and Medicare!.
Welfare is a hand out. And, maybe to help people out, it is Ok for 6 months or so to help someone get back on their feet.
BUT, a large percentage of our country (we can argue the specific number, but to what end?) has become dependent on these
programs much to the Democrats delight. Something must be done about the welfare cycle in our country. I understand and accept
the need to help those who are down on their luck or opportunities. However, these issues are not without solution and assistance
should have limits. People have choices to make in their lives, almost regardless of circumstance, and will have to accept
the outcome of those choices. For anyone who is physically and mentally able for employment, the benefits should have limits.
The 'Obama Socialist Act of 2009' has reversed some of the progress made in the last 30 years.
With the very large numbers of children being born outside of wedlock in our country, the system seems to encourage the
behavior by offering more free benefits as unmarried mothers have more and more children. And now a single lady on welfare
who already had 6 kids, gets some type of medical subsidy to go have 8 MORE KIDS for us to pay for. When will the madness
end???????? In many recent example cases, someone does much better on the many government assistance programs than actually
getting a $30,000 or $40,000/year job! That should tell us all how broken our system actually is.
National Security
We must secure our borders! A wall is a good start. We must reach out anywhere in the world to find those who want to
harm us. Lip service will no longer be tolerated! We propose a program which will provide ample resources to get this done!
Build the damn wall !!!! Letting terrorists be tried as ordinary criminals should be an outrage to us all. AND, WE MUST
PROTECT AMERICANS IN GOVERNMENT POSITIONS AROUND THE WORLD! THIS IS A KEY NATIONAL ISSUE!
Foreign Affairs and Foreign Aid
Charity begins at home! If we give money to anyone outside of the US, they must be 'with us'! They should have a basic
fairness in their culture, not based on religion or form of governance, but on doing the 'right thing', or they get no money!
If we give money, or defense support, we should have certain input as to the use of the money. We are giving more 'aid' than
any country of the world and are still hated in certain areas in spite of it. So, let's solve problems at home first. THIS
IS A KEY NATIONAL ISSUE!
US Defense Department
We can't even protect our embassy's and diplomats, and trying to be the 'peacemaker' and 'guardian' of the world should
not be our role. In specific examples, like Saddam's invasion of Kuwait, action may be required. But then, as 'Bush 41'
rightfully decided, we restore sovereignty and leave, not push further attacks or long-term occupation. If long term peacekeeping
is required it will be a multinational force without a primary US 'face' to the world. We need weapons systems that provide
the most flexible defensive and offensive options - planes, submarines, missiles, and missile defense system. THIS IS A KEY
NATIONAL ISSUE! President Trump didn't handle it, but I wasn't impressed with Mr. Obama's results as to what was ongoing
in Syria, and even now, with making some progress against ISIS, I'm not sure what the 'Biden Team' endgame is. 'No Action'
is a failing action, just ask Ambassador Steven's and the other 3 American's family's of those who died in the terrorist raid
in Benghazi! Let us hope Mr. Trumps Team does better the second time around.
Energy
We believe that energy supply is the most serious threat of all to our national security and our economy, and, most of
our current 'energy policies' stink! The latest congressional target of 35 mpg for vehicles is the right target and energy
policy must focus on both demand (usage) reduction and supply increase. No one solution will solve the problem, but nothing
should be off the table because, if just a very few events occur, our country could be crippled in fewer than 3 months. This
has been coming since the 70's, or earlier, see our Energy and our joint Infrastructure/motor fuel proposals on the index
to the left, AND IT MUST BE ADDRESSED IN THE 2017-2020 PRESIDENTIAL TERM OF OFFICE! THIS IS A KEY NATIONAL ISSUE! And, NO
OIL or NATURAL GAS EXPORTS!!!! Unfortunately, and President Biden decided to 'give away' our resources and negating EPCA and
put us once again at the mercy of other global oil producing countries who don't like us very much!!!!!
Intelligence
Intelligence - God what a mess! It has turned into an unelected "Deep State" who think they are in charge of
spying on our government to assure their wishes are implemented. After 12 years we still don't even have the 'correct' story
on Benghazi - how and why it occurred, who did it, and what we are going to do about it. No one should feel safe with the
crew that was running things in Washington. They wanted to bury their heads and say 'things are fine' - 'Ding Dong - Al Qaida
is dead'! BS! Yes, the ISIS caliphate is gone, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead, but, Al Qaida, Boko Haram, etc. are getting
stronger and stronger. Hopefully, after seeing some positive initial results, given a second term, Mr. Trump's Team will do
even better, but there is more work to do!
In concert with National Security and Defense, we must not tie our hands behind us. We have to expand our capabilities
worldwide, and put 'feet on the ground' in all societies and cultures around the world on a grass roots basis. We need to
infiltrate those societies as they are doing in ours. I believe that most of those in the intelligence agencies are basically
good people trying to do all they can to protect our country. Why does the current administration now try to 'fry' them in
the press and in the Congress? Learn from any mistakes, but don't drive out those trying so hard to keep us safe. Unfortunately,
the world is a dangerous place, and the Marquis of Queensberry rules don't apply. We need resources who 'fit in' to those
intelligence assignments, so we must employ resources with those capabilities and backgrounds. There must be a coordinated
database with National Security and Defense. THIS IS A KEY NATIONAL ISSUE!
Environment
We must not keep 'raising the bar' and setting new regulations via mandate, not legislated rules, until everyone is complying
with current regulations. There are many unlegislated rules that have been implemented without congressional approval and
most must be repealed! We must clarify and enforce (or reduce) the current rules before any new changes are made. No 'Cap
and Trade'! The costs will far outweigh any benefits. Mr. Trump did little about this in his 1st term, and with Biden we
had no chance to shape a realistic future. Maybe President Trump will agree with what I actually propose in the Government
Reorganization section, that maybe the EPA needs to greatly reduced in size and scope (since all states have their own programs)
or maybe eliminated....
Education
Education is a state issue! The federal government will help by providing some funding, general oversight, and 'benchmarking'
of the results in each state. Certain requirements must be met for states to get the federal funding. Eliminate the Department
of Education and have an education oversight group in Health and Human Services......
Immigration
This is a key issue in National Security, government social program costs, and for the crime in each city in our country.
Obviously, we were a country of immigrants initially, but any further immigration must be done in an orderly manner according
to national laws not by Presidential edict! We need the additional workforce resources from time to time, so that must be
provided for. The illegal immigrants currently in the US must now be addressed! It is ridiculous that known illegal immigrants
are often arrested and/or use our services, and yet they are allowed to stay in our country without getting proper documentation.
Now we have these 'Sanctuary States, Counties, and Cities and the new California laws like SB54 are ridiculous. That has
to stop! Hold those that vote for and implement and enforce these ridiculous laws accountable buy taking them to trial. If
the immigrants register properly, learn English, pay taxes, and don't commit crimes, they should be offered a system to become
legal immigrants, or possibly eventually citizens if they wish. But that doesn't come without requirements. First and foremost,
every person in the United States must have a valid passport for identification! IMPLEMENT the IANVP!!!!!!! THIS IS A KEY
NATIONAL ISSUE!
